Skills help the homeless

1 Jul, 2009 :: Hong Kong, SAR China

Clad in thick coveralls and safety shoes, the Doulos crew climbed seven flights of stairs to help with renovation. A THINK SAFETY! sign served as a reminder to the team on this five-story construction project to provide accommodation for people living on the streets. Project Manager Harry (New Zealand) and his crew had been in Hong Kong for one month and Doulos teams joined them in this project daily. The crew constructed brick walls for the function room, lavatories, and other rooms where the needy will one day live as a community. When asked why Eric Lee (Hong Kong) has stuck with the association for five years, he replied, “Because of love! I have skills in this field which can help the homeless.”
